Fins/Pats: Special Teams Rebound

The biggest story and concern going into the Patriots game is now ancient history for the Dolphins, as it was completely forgotten on Sunday, but it's worth taking a look at why.

The biggest difference in Miami's special teams had to be the simple addition of Erik Walden to the special teams. Walden, big #50, was an absolute beast busting up the wedge, and the Dolphins didn't give up any big returns.

Another change the Dolphins made was the inclusion of some directional kickoffs. This change I was not so fond of because it gives the opponent great starting field position and gives me visions of 2007, but the Dolphins did not surrender a long return, so you could say that the strategy worked.

Brandon Fields also had a nice game, his highlight being a booming kick that went out of bounds at the Patriots 15.

Overall, a special teams stalemate for Miami is a special teams victory this year, and the addition of Erik Walden appeared to pay dividends.
